Doug is a Broker Associate that brings more than 30 years of experience as a real estate broker to United Country. Throughout his career, he has gained significant knowledge and first-hand experience with farms, ranches, water rights issues, and conservation easements. He has served on numerous committees and state boards that include the Farm Services Agency State Committee, the State of California Wildlife Conservation Board, the State of California Fish and Game Commission, and the National Rice Council. He said he jumped at the opportunity to join United Country due to his admiration for the company since a child.

“I grew up on a ranch in Colusa County and my mom and dad always got the Farm Journal,” said McGeoghegan. “I was always intrigued that United Country always had a page or two of advertisements in it. I would look at the ads all of the time and I ended up gaining admiration for the company. It was just a feeling that I had. I knew that if I got back into real estate, I would look into United Country.”

McGeoghegan will use his background in agriculture business and ranching to specialize in the purchase and sale of farms, ranches, and recreational properties. Also, with rice production being prevalent in Northern California, he will also specifically work with rice farms in the area. He said his experience and background will bring something new to the Northern California real estate market.

“I’m a guy who loves horses and loves the outdoors,” said McGeoghegan. “I can bring the sophisticated representation for farms and ranches that this area really needs. I also plan on incorporating more of the auction method. I know it can be very successful at selling residential and agricultural properties.”
